Call for Submissions: Jimenez-Porter Literary Prize


CONTEST 2020

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: MONDAY, FEB 15,2021, by 11:59pm

 

What: 

The Jimenez-Porter Writers’ House is proud to award the sixteenth annual Literary Prize for Undergraduate Writing at University of Maryland, College Park. 

 

Awards:

1st place award (1 each in poetry and fiction):  $150.00

2nd place award (1 each in poetry and fiction):  $100.00

3rd place award (1 each in poetry and fiction):  $50.00

 

How, or Guidelines for Submissions: 

Ø  Poetry submissions must not exceed 3 pages, maximum 1 poem per page.  Fiction submissions must not exceed 3000 words.

Ø  To submit go to www.styluslit.org, click on “Submit,” and choose categories of “Jimenez-Porter Literary Prize” in Prose or Poetry.

Ø  Do not put your name or contact info on body of work. Work is judged anonymously, by an “outside” judge (i.e. outside of University of Maryland). To be eligible for this contest, you must be an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland, College Park, during the 2020-21 academic year.

Awards:

3rd place award (1 each in poetry and fiction):  $50.00
