Thank
you for your interest in the SGA Governance Board. The Governance Board
is continually seeking undergraduates of all majors to serve as
Justices on the SGA Governance Board.
We are looking for students with an interest in law and legal
proceedings. A successful candidate is able to reason clearly, conduct
themselves professionally and maintain confidentially. Freshmen
and Sophomore candidates are preferred. Interested applicants can send
via e-mail completed applications to Chief Justice Tony Belton at abelton1@terpmail.umd.edu. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis however the date of best consideration is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 23.

All SGA members, elected and/or appointed, are
subject to have both their academic and judicial records checked by an official
of the Office of Campus Programs (OCP) for the following eligibility criteria:
1. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
2. Currently not on academic probation
3. No serious Judicial record (what constitutes
serious will be determined by OCP)

Time Commitment:
Governance Board usually has 1-2 hearings per academic school year, in
the week leading up to a hearing 10 hours/per week can be an expected time
commitment.
