Camp Staff Needed! Seeking Camp Counselors for theater and dance camps


Seeking qualified candidates for performing arts camps at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center on the University of Maryland campus in College Park.  This location is metro accessible (green line to UMD/College Park shuttle), or there is free parking for camp employees.  We are looking for dancers/choreographers, theater/musical theater/improv teachers, and a visual artist to work with campers on sets and props.  There are four camps, each camp is two weeks long, including: Exploring Theater Arts, Making a Musical, Performing Arts Workshop, and Comedy Camp.  Descriptions of the camps can be found here: http://theclarice.umd.edu/blog/register-for-a-summer-art-camp-ages-8-11-and-11-15.  Each two-week camp takes one field trip to the pool and one field trip to an arts destination.  All Camp Counselors attend and participate in all field trips.   Camps are for 8 – 11 year olds or 11 – 15 year olds.  There is a maximum of 30 campers in each camp.  Camp dates are Monday – Friday from Monday, June 20 through Friday, August 12 with one day off for the July 4 holiday.  Camp Counselors must be available for all of the camp days.  Core camp hours are 9am – 4:30pm, with Before Care from 7am – 9am and After Care from 4:30 – 6pm.  Camp Counselor shifts will be six to eight hours long for a weekly total of 30 – 40 hours between 7am and 6pm, depending on your position.  Camp staff must be available for camp training dates: Wednesday, June 15th from 5:30pm – 9:30pm at Watkins Nature Center and Thursday, June 16th from 5:30pm – 9pm at the Publick Playhouse.  There will be two additional planning dates scheduled, depending on staff availability. Dancers!  We are also seeking qualified candidates for International Dance Camp at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts, 15200 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD.  The camp is two weeks long, from Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 15.  We are seeking dancers and choreographers for the positions of Camp Director, Assistant Director, and Camp Counselors.  There will be one field trip to the pool and one field trip to a dance performance or class.  There is a maximum of 30 campers in this camp.  A camp performance for parents will take place on the last day of camp from 6 – 7pm.  Camp Counselors must be available for all of the camp days.  Core camp hours are 9am – 4:30pm, with Before Care from 7am – 9am and After Care from 4:30 – 6pm.  Camp Counselor shifts will be six to eight hours long for a weekly total of 30 – 40 hours between 7am and 6pm, depending on your position.  Camp staff must be available for camp training dates: Wednesday, June 15th from 5:30pm – 9:30pm at Watkins Nature Center and Thursday, June 16th from 5:30pm – 9pm at the Publick Playhouse.  There will be one additional planning date scheduled, depending on staff availability.
