Each summer, the Young Scholars Program (YSP) welcomes high school students with exceptional ability and promise to pursue academic interests, discover career opportunities, and earn three university credits in just three weeks at Maryland.  YSP is hiring Mentors to assist students with personal and academic issues, manage program events, create an overall sense of community in the residence halls, mediate conflict, and interpret and enforce campus and YSP policies.

All Mentors are required to attend staff training from July 9-11. Housing will be provided during the staff training. The Young Scholars Program will be in session from July 12 – July 31, with a 6:00pm checkout time on July 31 for the Mentor staff.

Please visit oes.umd.edu/mentor-opportunities to learn more and apply to the Mentor position.  Applications are due by March 27th to the Office of Extended Studies at 0132 Main Administration Building.  If you have questions, please contact Patrick Spring, Program Assistant, at pspring@umd.edu.
