Bangladeshis celebrate Ekushey February (February 21st) as International Mother Language Day to commemorate the struggles in preserving the Bengali language. This United Nations recognized holiday celebrates the variety of cultures around the world and it's multitude of dialects. An authentic Bangladeshi dinner will be served and TED Talk Speaker Samier Mansur will be attending. His speech on September 12th, 2012 in Dhaka, Bangladesh advocated the Bangladesh Pluralism Project, promoting multiculturalism in Asia and it's neighbors. He will delve further into this matter on a more intimate level among attendees. The event will take place February 21, 2013 at 6 pm in the Prince Georges Room in Stamp.
