Genesis and the Big Bang: Ancient Wisdom and Modern Science

World-renowned physicist and lecturer, Dr. Gerald Schroeder, will be coming to speak at the University of Maryland on Saturday night, February 9th at 7:30 pm in the multipurpose room at Maryland Hillel, 7612 Mowatt Lane, College Park, MD 20740.  He will be speaking on the topic Genesis and the Big Bang: Ancient Wisdom and Modern Science. What is the age of our universe: six days, fourteen billion years or both? Discovery of harmony between modern science and ancient biblical commentary.  Dr. Schroeder received his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1965 and taught physics there for five years. He later moved to Israel and worked as a researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Volcani Research Institute, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He currently teaches at Aish HaTorah College of Jewish Studies. He is also the author of numerous articles and books, including "Genesis and the Big Bang."  Pizza will be available for sale after the talk.
