Engineering Co-op or Part-time Job !

The Computational Bioscience and Engineering Laboratory (CBEL) has a co-op (Pathways program) job opening for a qualified student in the fields of electrical or computer engineering. CBEL is an advanced research and development organization that supports cutting edge biomedical research activities at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). CBEL is involved in a wide range of research areas including: electronics, data acquisition, optics, robotics, image and signal processing, software engineering, algorithm development, and instrumentation prototype development.

The co-op will assist in the design and development of advanced biomedical instrumentation used in research projects at the NIH. The student will work ‘hands-on’ in a laboratory involved in a wide range of technologies such as: digital signal and video processing; digital and analog circuit design; opto-electronics; programmable logic devices; application specific software development; and rapid 3D prototyping. This exciting position will enable the student to immediately apply knowledge gained in the classroom towards important projects in biomedical research.

Applicants must be willing to work a minimum of one year. Required work hours are 16 hours/week minimum during school semesters and 40 hours/per week during the summer months.
