Undergraduate Research Day Event open to all bioengineering and biocomputational engineering students - April 29

After a two-year hiatus, the University of Maryland Chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) has teamed up with the Johns Hopkins University Chapter of BMES to host the eighth BMES Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Research Competition on Friday, April 29th from 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Zupnik Forum of A. James Clark Hall.

This event is designed to provide undergraduate students with a unique opportunity to gain research presentation experience by way of presenting a poster and/or oral presentation. Even more, students will engage with counterparts from JHU, as well as, potentially, George Mason University and the University of Delaware. Prizes will be awarded to the top poster presentation as well as the top oral presentation. Students who cannot participate in person are invited to compete in the oral presentation virtually. All in-person event attendees will have the opportunity to view both the in-person and online oral presentations live.

Students who wish to compete in this event are asked to register as soon as possible, and submit their title/abstract(s) by no later than April 18th.

Additional details – and the registration form – are available online. Those who already know their title/abstract can submit it upon registering; alternatively, students may register now and submit their title/abstract by April 18th by emailing them to bmesumdcp@gmail.com.

Please note: the timing of this event may change slightly based on the number of student participants. The start time of this event will be no earlier than 9:30, and the event will conclude by no later than 3:00 p.m. For those who can only compete or attend virtually, the virtual portion of the event will take place at some point in the early afternoon (approximately 1:30 – 2:30).

The full agenda will be shared online on the BIOE website and with registrants as soon as it is made available. Lunch will be provided for all registered in-person participants and attendees.
