Being Black & Muslim: Forging Solidarities - 11/18


What does it mean to be Black? What does it mean to be Muslim? Where do the two intersect?

Join us for a panel discussion as we discuss the lived experiences of Black Muslims as we navigate intersectional identities and how to forge solidarities across communities.  

Panelists include Shahrazad Hired, a Government and Politics major with a certificate inAfrican-American studies at UMD and a member of President Loh's Council on Diversity and Inclusion, Tariq Toure, a Muslim essayist, poet, and public speaker from Baltimore, as well as three other distinguished panelists. Refreshments provided!
