UMD Students Ending Slavery - 10/15

Hello Activists!
This coming Thursday 10/15 we will be having Dr. Christine White speak at our meeting. Dr. White is our club faculty adviser. She teaches multiple classes in the Criminology and Criminal Justice Department, including Slavery in the Twenty-First Century: Combating Human Trafficking. Dr. White is leading a study abroad experience this coming January to Thailand, focusing on combating trafficking. She is also a member of Prince George's County Human Trafficking Task Force. It will be a very special treat to hear from here, so bring your friends!

If you haven't fill out the doodle poll with what day(s) you are available to volunteer with us (most likely at http://thesamaritanwomen.org) please fill out this doodle: http://doodle.com/poll/44hevadw7n2ss8nr

Last meeting we talked about human trafficking in Brazil. Here are the slides from that presentation: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1WVsR20fwc_5_h6PoY8apNst0vi7MJlmqFdT8pVYzTL4/edit?usp=sharing

If you would like to give a presentation at one of our meetings please email us at umdses@gmail.com or tell an officer at our meeting. It's super easy and fun!

Have a rock'n week my fellow Terps!

Sincerely,

Maddie
