Breakdown Identity Workshop 10/23-24 (register by 10/22)

Are you currently in or looking to have a position of leadership?
Are you someone who is passionate about collaboration?
Does the idea of students sticking only to groups of people who are like them leave you longing for something more?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, Breakdown is for you!

Breakdown Identity Workshop is a student-led event sponsored by MICA, and cosponsored by Alpha Theta Sigma Multicultural Fraternity, Inc., and Maryland LEAD.

The event focuses on breaking down identities and looking into commonly held biases, stereotypes, and experiences with discrimination. Students will be reminded that stereotypes and biases while observable, cannot define entire groups of people- people are defined by our stories, which are influenced by our identities.

Students will be challenged to take their experiences from this program and positively affect campus with identity-based programming in the remainder of the Fall semester or coming Spring semester.
Doors Open at 5:30pm on Friday and 8am on Saturday (there will be a light breakfast on Saturday morning)

Date: Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th
Link to Registration Form:http://go.umd.edu/bdsignup
Registration ends on Thursday, October 22nd at 5pm!
