AMSA (American Medical Student Association) GBM#2: Looking for a longitudinal service opportunity? 9/27

One of the most important aspects of going into healthcare is having experience in long-term service. What better way to get involved than through American Medical Student Association?
AMSA will be having 5 "Service Squads" this semester: DC Central Kitchen, Martha's Table, and Bread for the City, and 2 for Food Recovery Network. Come to our meeting this week and pick the group you want to volunteer with! Make meaningful connections with AMSA members, and the organization itself so you can keep volunteering there in future semesters too! We will also discuss and start planning for our Project Diner and MonuMENTAL project. Don't miss out!

Advancing Muslim American Leadership (AMAL) Group

Advancing Muslim American Leadership (AMAL) is an online platform to encourage young Muslim Americans to pursue opportunities in public service careers.

Our website contains a database of fellowship opportunities in various public service related fields for high school, college, and graduate level students.

We also recently launched AMAL Coach, a platform that pairs aspiring fellowship/scholarship applicants with successful recipients. Both coaches and applicants can sign up here.

AMAL’s resources are open to all, regardless of personal background, but our aim is to support and encourage young Muslim Americans to pursue careers in NGOs, national and local government, multilateral institutions, social enterprise, and media. We believe that increasing Muslim American representation in public service spaces will foster more inclusive policies and institutions, both in the U.S. and around the world. We are creating resources and tools that will make public service-oriented career paths more accessible to Muslim Americans.

Please share our website with your family, friends, and professional networks. We are hoping to spread the word this fall so that potential applicants can make the most of our resources in time for upcoming deadlines.
