Deep Brain Neurotech (DBN) FIRE Stream Study

The Deep Brain Neurotech (DBN) FIRE Stream is a collaborative program between UMD and FDA. We are currently conducting a research study on ADHD with two aims:

1) identifying EEG diagnostic markers of the disorder to complement or replace the subjective decisions made by clinicians, and
2) testing the effect of replacing the usual drug treatments with a non-invasive and harmless auricular Vagus nerve stimulator (in the form of headphones) to enhance focus without any side effects and with the additional benefit of relieving stress and tension.

While the research is led by Dr. Nevine El-leithy, there are members in charge of conducting the actual field experiments and collecting data along with other DBN BRAINIACS team members who handle interpreting the data. We are looking for volunteers who are clinically diagnosed with ADHD. The essence of our revolutionary DBN research is minimizing human error in clinical decision-making and designing alternative therapies for brain disorders in which drugs either cause a plethora of side effects or have no effect at all.

We need participants; take the ADHD Participant Interest Survey

We offer a reward of a Texas Instruments Chronos watch and a chance to win a $25 Amazon gift card.
