Support Team MELTS' Launch UMD Campaign

Team MELTS is a 4-year undergraduate research project sponsored by UMD's Gemstone Honors Program. Road salts, though beneficial for melting ice and clearing roadways, can have a variety of negative impacts on the environment, infrastructure, and water supply. 

Our team is researching agro-based/chloride-free products in order to develop a more environmentally friendly anti-icer. Over the course of our LaunchUMD campaign which ends May 11th, we hope to raise $4500 for our project. This money will help us purchase supplies and materials to complete our testing, as well as cover any travel expenses.
