Help Disadvantaged Students with College Essays – April 18, April 25, May 2

A college education is becoming more and more crucial for success in the workforce. Unfortunately, many minority or low income students struggle with the college application process and thus do not get accepted into college.

The College Access Project (CAP) is looking for volunteers to help high school students write their college essays. The students in the program are either the first in their family to go to college, are low-income, have an incarcerated parent, are recent immigrants, or are wards of the state.

Volunteers will meet with the students at least three times, on April 18th , April 25th , and May 2nd from 6:00 to 7:30 to help the students with their college essays and the college application process. The location will be the Montgomery College Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus which is easily accessible by metro and UMD bus.
