Official screening of
'Girl Rising,' a film about nine
courageous girls from different parts of the world who, even in the of
face of arranged marriages and child slavery, fought for their right to
an education. Organized by
UMD student Rebecca Silverman, a senior majoring in Global
Women’s Health through the Individual Studies Program and an Intel
ambassador for change. The event grew out of Rebecca’s participation in
Intel for Change Smart Girls = Smart world, dedicated to promoting access to education as a fundamental right for girls and women throughout the world.
