Karina Aguilera Skvirsky is a multi-disciplinary artist who
works in photography, video and performance. In 2010, she participated
in There is always a cup of sea for man to sail, the 29th Sao Paolo
Biennial, where she exhibited work from her project, Memories of
Development, a multi-part project that investigates the psychological
and cultural legacy of Latin America’s “third world” status through
performance, video, and photography. In 2011 she was commissioned by the
Laundromat Project (NY) to create a community based public art project

Works from Aguilera Skvirsky’s North-East-South series are included
in the Network of Mutuality: 50 Years Post-Birmingham exhibit in The Art
Gallery.
The exhibition opening reception will follow her lecture from 6-8 p.m.
