Are you a Pell Grant recipient and US Citizen planning to study abroad in Summer 2019, Fall 2019, or for the 2019-2020 academic year? If so you may be eligible to apply for the U.S. Department of State’s Gilman Scholarship.
This scholarship provides up to $5,000 to help pay for study abroad programs. Last year thirty University of Maryland (UMD) students were awarded Gilman Scholarships—
The application deadline is March 5, 2019. To be eligible, you must be:
· a U.S. citizen
· a Pell Grant recipient
· a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior (includes all majors)
· studying abroad for at least 21 days
