LITFEST CONTEST 2017

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: SUNDAY, FEB 5, 2017, by 11:59pm

What: 

The Jimenez-Porter Writers’ House is proud to award the fourteenth annual Literary Prize for Undergraduate Writing at LITFEST on THURSDAY, May 4, 2017.  Winners must attend & read at LITFEST to collect. Winning works will be published in Stylus. 

Awards:

1^st place award (1 each in poetry and fiction):  $150.00

2^nd place award (1 each in poetry and fiction):  $100.00

3^rd place award (1 each in poetry and fiction):  $50.00

How, or Guidelines for Submissions: 

Ø  Poetry submissions must not exceed 3 pages, maximum 1 poem per page.  Fiction submissions must not exceed 3500 words.

Ø  To submit go to www.styluslit.org, click on “Submit,” click on the “Submissions Manager” link, and choose “Litfest” in categories of Prose or Poetry.

Ø  Do not put your name or contact info on body of work. Work is judged anonymously, by an “outside” judge (i.e. outside of University of Maryland).​
