Winter Term Trip - Taiwan: Exploring a Different China (App. Deadline Oct. 1)

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?
• Three week program hosted by Tamkang University in Taipei, Taiwan.
Students will take intensive language study classes, culture
classes, engage in cultural discussions, and take excursions to historical
monuments around the island.
• Participants will first take a placement test and be assigned to appropriate
classes. Then, they will immerse themselves in the richness
of Taiwanese culture through intensive Chinese language and
culture classes, and contact with the regional Taiwanese populace.
• Students will live either in a Residence Hall on campus or in an
apartment complex nearby.
• There will be two pre-program meetings held at the school. Both
will be conducted prior to end of Fall 2015 Semester. One will be
held right before Thanksgiving hoilday and another will be held a
week students return from Thanksgiving holiday, more than likely
during the end of the semester study period.
• Course credit can be given as either CHIN269T or HONR258M.


WHO IS HERE TO HELP?
Dr. Phoenix Liu, Program Director of the
Language House Immersion Program, is
a native of Taiwan. She holds a master’s
degree in German Philology and a Ph.D. in
German linguistics. Her specialization is in
language teaching methods, immersion education,
and language acquisition.
