Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost: The Spirituality of J.R.R. Tolkien - 9/25

7PM Thursday September 25th at the Catholic Student Center
Tolkien's work is often accused of being escapist, indeed many readers approach the world of Middle Earth as if it were far removed from our own. But why then does the story captivate us? Why is the tale so compelling? Does something deeper inform the very heart of Tolkien's masterful myth?
The speaker will be Bro. Patrick Mary Briscoe, O.P., M.Div. (Cand.), a Dominican friar currently studying theology at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C. He studied philosophy and French literature at his alma mater, Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. He was raised on tales of hobbits and dragons.
