The
goal of this event is to allow students, faculty, and staff members to
explore the African American faculty/staff in the University of
Maryland community. Many of us students have never had an African
American professor, or never had the chance to interact with them on a
personal level, especially in certain fields. It is our hope that this
event will showcase the diversity of UMD's faculty/staff and allow
students to gain role models and mentors through the individuals
present. We hope this will become an annual event that students,
faculty and staff members will look forward to.
Please
join us in celebrating these successful people of color, and realizing
the importance of getting to know your community. We will be providing
a light dinner for all attendees!
