Executive Board Position: Club that Mentors Incarcerated Youth

Are you interested in mentoring incarcerated youth? "Justice for Juniors" is a club at UMD that mentors kids in a nearby Juvenile Detention Center. We go every Monday for two to three hours and talk with the kids about a variety of important social issues.

Many of our of our executive board members have graduated, and we are looking for new
leadership to work with the Juvenile Detention Center and to help get our club up and running
again.

We are looking for students with strong organizational and leadership skills. We need to fill the
position of President and Vice President, but other executive board spaces are available as well.
This is an incredible resume building opportunity, as an executive board position in our club
demonstrates leadership and a commitment to service. Previous members of our club have won
awards and received scholarships based on their involvement in "Justice for Juniors".

African American and Hispanic students are especially encouraged to apply.
