Adele's Circle of Women Service Day March 11 (Register by March 6)

University of Maryland women students will join forces with alumnae in Adele’s Circle of Women (a group of University of Maryland alumnae committed to supporting undergraduate and graduate women students – sponsored by the Adele H. Stamp Student Union – Center for Campus Life) to serve in the community at one of two sites:

1) A Wider Circle: A Wider Circle's mission is to end poverty for one individual and one family after another. Its efforts focus on the provision of basic need items, education and long-term support. Volunteers will be working at the warehouse, sorting and moving furniture, toys, and linens.

2) Carroll House: Carroll House, in Silver Spring, is a transitional homeless shelter for men and is currently home to about 10 men. The program offers residents intensive case management, vocational programming, and a range of services. Volunteers will be cleaning the House. Cleaning supplies, buckets, and gloves will be provided by Carroll House. Volunteers are asked to bring sponges and toiletries (shaving cream, shampoo, full-size bars of soap, deodorant, etc.) to donate. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.

Even if you’re not volunteering at Carroll House, please consider bringing toiletries for the homeless who shelter at Carroll House.

Lunch and transportation to and from the sites will be provided. Please register by March 6.
