Chesapeake Climate Action Network - Tuesday



In recent months an environmental threat has descended upon MD that is so huge -- so negatively transformative -- that it requires an unprecedented response. Dominion Resources is proposing a massive industrial plan to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) out of Cove Point, on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in southern Maryland. The plan would expand fracking for gas across the Mid-Atlantic region. It would lead to new community-disrupting pipelines. And it's one of the worst things our state could do for global warming. 

That’s why local environmental nonprofit, Chesapeake Climate Action Network, is touring across the state to educate and mobilize MD citizens about this important issue. Knowing that UMD is a hub of intelligent, motivated, and passionate young adults, they’ve decided to partner with the Student Government Association and bring the tour to College Park! Check it out:
