Are you a current sophomore graduating in December 2021 or May 2022?

IBM Services’ Consulting division is looking for innovative, hardworking individuals for our selective Early ID Mentorship program. Our Global Business Services (GBS) Federal sector has open applications for the 2020 Mentorship Program, and the application closes Friday, March 27th
 
The mentoring program is for Sophomores graduating in December 2021 or May 2022, and is a great way to gain exposure into our Consulting division, as well as make experienced, industry connections. This is a great opportunity for those especially looking to intern with IBM GBS Federal in their Junior year (though not guaranteed!).

This six month mentorship program includes one-on-one career coaching with IBM consultants, networking opportunities, exposure to case study projects and private informational sessions about IBM including:

- Introduction to Careers in Consulting
- Educational Workshops and exposure to IBM Technologies

Additionally, participants in this program will have the ability to attend an in-person event in the DC Metro Area and participate in interviews for an internship position!

What would a future consulting role in Technology look like at IBM?
- You will help design, develop and integrate solutions using best practice technologies, tools, techniques and products our clients demand today. Client projects could be focused on cybersecurity and biometrics, cloud migration, application development and testing, and enterprise application
development and maintenance.

What would a future consulting role in Data Science look like at IBM?
- You will provide technical and analytical support in order to gain business understanding, prepare data, analyze data, and build and evaluate either predictive (regression or classification) or prescriptive (simulation or optimization) models. Data Scientist consultants at IBM will deploy advanced analytics techniques that are traditionally applied to structured data, as well as Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning techniques for unstructured content, to enable comprehensive cognitive solutions.

What would a future consulting role in Business Transformation look like at IBM?
- You will work at the intersection of technology and traditional business transformation to help your
clients develop new efficiencies. Business transformation consultants develop an understanding of
client processes, goals and objectives to define both the future state and the path to get there. You will
help your clients understand digital and cognitive technologies and the impact that the technologies can have on traditional business processes. Our business transformation consultants work on projects
spanning Supply Chain Management/Internet of Things, Talent & Engagement, Customer Experience & Design, Digital Business Strategy, Program Management, Finance, Blockchain and Salesforce.

What do we look for in an Early ID Mentorship Program Participant?
- A minimum GPA of 3.2
- Interest in IBM’s Federal Sector located in the Washington, DC Metro Area
- Genuine interest in government, our clients, and their industries, and how technology can impact,
support and transform day-to-day business processes
- Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery Libraries, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, C++, Python, Java, and any other Machine Learning languages
- Familiarity with Agile Development, Operating Systems, hypervisors, scripting languages, network
configuration tools, DevOps environments, and the concept of integrated systems management
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to adapt, with willingness to readily take ownership of tasks and problems, which often extend beyond initial scope of responsibility
- Thorough and analytical, with capability to apply logic to solve problems
- Ability to thrive in an ever-changing, technology-based consulting environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with individuals,
strengthening relationships to achieve win-win solutions
- Most jobs within Federal Sector require U.S. citizenship and/or security clearance because of
government requirements. If you are not a U.S. citizen or are unable to obtain security clearance, there may be limited work opportunities for you.

Preferred Degree/Majors:
Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Information
Systems/Management Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Cognitive Science, Artificial Intelligence, Finance and Supply Chain Management.

Interested candidates should apply via your school’s career services portal (i.e. Handshake) before Friday, March 13 th , 2020. Selected candidates will participate in virtual interview assessments in late March.
