New Arrivals 2017 is an exhibition of the artwork acquired this year by the university’s Contemporary Art Purchasing Program (CAPP) to become a part of the university’s permanent collection. All completed within the last decade, the works in this exhibition examine contemporary experiences of race, gender, class, embodiment, and personal identity. Spanning photography, collage, textile, sculpture, and video, the works explore inclusivity and intersectionality, offering unique visions of human interdependence and vulnerability.
The opening reception is Wednesday, August 30 from 6–8 pm. The show will be on view from August 28 through October 14, 2017. Our gallery doors are open Monday–Thursday 10 am to 8 pm, Friday 10 am to 6 pm, and Saturday 11 am to 5 pm.
